How do I Track Deadheads?

Tracking deadheads in LogTen Pro, either Mac or iPhone, is quite easy!

Step 1: Configure

First we'll want to configure a custom check box on the Duty tab so we can mark our entries as deadhead. You can call it whatever you want, so if you prefer "commute" or something else, that's fine! If you haven't setup any yet you can just change "Custom 1" to "Deadhead".

Mac: Choose "Configure LogTen Pro" from the Manage menu

iPhone: Tap the "Configure Duty Section" when view any flight

Step 2: Log It

Now we've got a check box, all we need to do is create a new "flight" and tick the box. You can even enter duty times and a pay rate to track duty pay for commuting if you are lucky enough to be paid for commutes.

Step 3: Create a Smart Group for Easy Filtering

There isn't really a step 3, but you can go a step further and create a smart group, or even two smart groups so you can easily filter your deadhead flights. The following smart group shows all the deadheads, however you could make another one just like it but with the Deadhead box NOT checked, and that would show all your flights WITHOUT deadheads. This is handy if you'd like to print your logbook and exclude these. :)

Mac:

On the main Flights tab tap the + button at the bottom left corner and select "New Smart Group", then configure as pictured.
