What Should I Backup?
Good question! This means you’re making backups, always a very good idea.
Mac
LogTen Pro 6 is a “shoebox” app, like Apple’s iPhoto, or iTunes. We recommend using Apple's TimeMachine which will automatically backup all your data including your LogTen Pro logbook. If you'd like to make a manual copy of the data, everything about LogTen Pro including it's preferences, reports, images, etc. is stored in the applications "container" located in your home directory at: ~/Library/Containers/com.coradine.LogTenPro6
In Mac OS X Lion the Library folder is hidden, you can find it easily by holding down the option key when selecting the Go menu in the Finder.
In addition if you have LogTen Pro for iPhone or iPad then your data is fully backed up on each device as well, so if any one device (including your Mac) should have a problem you can restore from one of the other devices.
iOS Devices: iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch
Of course if you are syncing to the Mac, that will provide a backup copy of your data. If you do not have a Mac, then either turn on iCloud or make sure that you connect your iOS device to iTunes often and perform a backup. To do that, use either command-click (mac) or right-click (pc) on your device name under Devices in iTunes and select Backup. That will at least take an image snapshot of your device, including any data that is stored along with any of your applications.
If you have iCloud turned on then LogTen Pro and its data will be backed up to iCloud whenever your device is plugged in, connected to WiFi and asleep.
You can also make a backup of your LogTen Pro data file by going to the More menu within LogTen Pro and then the Help menu. Select "Email Support" with "Attach logbook" selected and enter your own email address in the email. You will then receive a copy of your LogTen Pro data file in your email inbox.
